About

We the Richland School District, founded in 1914, are proud to put our website online for you the audience members to view. We believe in bringing the latest technology to our community as well as our students. Our district serves the area of Richland Township and Geistown Borough located in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, which is about 25-30 radial miles. We the Richland Rams are strong in Academics, Fine Arts, and Athletics. Below is a brief history of Richland Township, and where we are located.

Over the years Richland has grown from a rural farm community into a well defined growth mix of residential housing, light industrial, commercial and retail sales with an educational system where children can attend kindergarten through college without leaving Richland.

The growth of Richland Township can be attributed to years of good government, planning and zoning. With the advent of the sanitary sewer system in the early 1960's and the availability of open land with proper zoning in place, Richland has grown in an organized manner. The Township has an airport, a quality road system with ample water supply all of which are contributing factors influencing the growth of Richland Township.

Richland Township will continue to grow and develop in the years to come.
