The Strategic Plan serves as the visionary document of the school district, defining our mission and establishing the action plans that are designed to help us reach our goals. During the 2007-2008 school year, the district is once again engaged in Strategic Planning. A glance backward will serve us well as we embark upon a new journey with parents, students, teachers, administrators, board members, community members, and business representatives involved in the process. Within this collaborative partnership, the Strategic Planning Steering Committee and its subcommittees charted a course of action to ensure that ample and appropriate consideration be given to the educational needs of every student in the district.
Our purposes throughout the accomplishment of the goals of the plan have been the reinforcement of a collective commitment to the continual upgrading of our educational offerings and the setting of high expectations for all students while providing the necessary structures and supports to ensure the achievement of our educational goals.
The fulfillment of the plan has involved all members of the district in all curricular areas as we worked together to optimize learning opportunities for the students of the Richland School District. The plan reflects our commitment to the present and future success of our students and the collective responsibility we assume for ensuring that success. We are pleased to announce that the plan will successfully conclude, having served five priority goal areas as follows: Academic Standards and Assessments, Student Services, Professional Development, Educational Technology, and Teacher Induction.
