About the Richland School District
Our district serves the area of Richland Township and Geistown Borough located in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, which is approximately 25 square miles. We, the Richland Rams, are strong in Academics, Fine Arts, and Athletics.
Over the years, Richland has grown from a rural farm community into a well-defined growth mix of residential housing, light industrial, commercial and retail sales with an educational system where children can attend kindergarten through college without leaving Richland.
Our commitment to the communities of Richland Township and the Borough of Geistown is to provide the highest quality education possible for each and every student. We want our students to graduate from our school district with the tools, skills, and talents necessary to lead successful, productive lives that will contribute to a higher standard of action.
Based on the recently released 2016-2017 state-wide School Performance Profile rankings, Richland Elementary ranked 32nd out of 307 elementary schools with K-6 grade configurations with an SPP of 85.9 and Richland High School’s SPP score 0f 79.8 ranked 6th out of 138 high schools with a 7-12 grade configuration.
Richland’s success is a direct result of a dedicated Board of Education, administration, teachers, support staff, and supportive parents who believe that, “A student is never an interruption of our work ~ he or she is the purpose of our work.”
This district believes:
The Richland School District, striving to be a leader in education, shares the following mission:
