Bus drivers, student drivers, parents, and employees are strongly encouraged to avoid the intersections of Bedford Street and U.S. Route 219 near the former Jet Lube building during the morning hours on February 1, 2024, due to the traffic lights not working which may cause traffic congestion and back-ups. Alternative routes are strongly recommended as a result. The power to the traffic lights at this busy intersection has been interrupted by a contractor error when repairing the guardrail and an underground power line was severed. It is anticipated that the traffic lights will not be functioning until noon on February 1, 2024, and temporary stop signs have been set up.
Impacted bus drivers have been notified and it may delay pick-up times for a few minutes. We ask for your patience and cooperation during this time. Parents who normally do not drive their children to school are strongly encouraged to have their children ride the buses as normal to reduce traffic congestion in the area and at the schools.
