RSD WEATHER ALERT: January 28 – January 30, 2026

January 28 – January 30, 2026

In light of the recent snowstorm and the anticipated cold temperatures, the Richland School District will open late for the remainder of this week. Starting later provides more daylight for students traveling to school, extra time for families to prepare, and allows our transportation team to ensure all buses and vans are properly warmed and ready for the road.

Altered Opening Times

  • Wednesday, Jan 28: Opening 2 Hours Late

  • Thursday, Jan 29: Opening 2 Hours Late

  • Friday, Jan 30: Opening 1 Hour Late

Safety & Preparation

Our Buildings and Grounds crew has been working non-stop to clear district sidewalks and parking areas to ensure a safe return. As we resume classes, we ask for your cooperation:

  • Be Mindful: Please encourage students to be extra aware of traffic in and around bus stops.

  • Expect Travel Time: Please be patient as our drivers navigate their routes in these winter conditions.

We appreciate your understanding as we navigate the unique challenges posed by this storm. Stay warm, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in our buildings!

Sincerely,

Mr. Arnold J. Nadonley

Superintendent, Richland School District
