Creative Writing-Semester 1 Assignments

   After reading through the works of other students, choose one person in the class to write a review for their portfolio! This is an opportunity to highlight their strengths and value of their work. A Review will be included in your Final Portfolio following your Table of Contents. 

Reviews are Due Thursday, Jan 12, 2023 at the conclusion of the period.

Please submit your finalized copy of your One Act Play here.

Please attach your first draft of your One Act Play.

Be sure to...

- Include the Title and Cast List at the top of the first page
- Format dialogue so student actors can easily read your script. 
- Please print enough copies of your play so that actors with speaking roles can act out your play
- Revisions will take place during class time while student actors perform your play!

Write a poem with a tone of anger concerning a certain topic or issue.

Create a happy poem!

Submit an outline of your characters in your narrative piece. This can be completed in your Journal or digitally. Include:

2. Character Role(s) & Character Type(s)
     - Will your character(s) experience any changes? Explain. 
3. Character Traits and Description
4. Character Goals/Desires: Summarize what this character will or strive to accomplish
5. Character Strengths/Weaknesses


BONUS: Create illustrations of your characters!

Create a short story (2-3 pages typed) or a poem using either...

- Notes from your 2 Observations 
- Notes from whole class observation on 9/20

Incorporate details from your observations into your piece. 
Submit a final draft of your work in a Google Doc by attaching your file.

Survey the life and literary works of an author or poet. Give some biographical information about your author/poet. Explain the author/poet’s genre, style, language, and themes included in their works.
