What are the duties and responsibilities?
- Provide individualized and small-group academic support based on student needs and instructional plans.
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and other behavior support strategies as directed.
- Reinforce classroom expectations and assist students in developing appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
- Teach and model coping, self-regulation, and problem-solving strategies.
- Collect, document, and report behavioral and academic data accurately and consistently.
- Support students in remaining engaged and on task during classroom instruction.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school counselors, behavior specialists, and other educational staff to support student success.
- Assist with de-escalation techniques using approved crisis prevention methods when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete required reports in a timely manner.
- Encourage student independence while providing appropriate levels of support.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with applicable laws and district policies.
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities.

What are the required qualifications?
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, or a related field required.
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate preferred or required based on district assignment.
- Additional training or certification in behavior management, trauma-informed practices, crisis prevention, or social-emotional learning is preferred.
