Updating your Chromebook & Apps

It is important to update your Chromebook's operating system and Android applications to make sure they work smoothly the first week of school. Updates are sent out automatically but it takes time for this to happen. If you are experiencing any issues with your Chromebook or apps, please follow the steps below in order to update them. We encourage all students and staff to do this the first week of school.
 
How to update your Chromebook OS
  1. Make sure your device is connected to WiFi and log in using your school account.
  2. Click on the notification area in the bottom-right corner of the screen where the time is displayed.
  3. Click on the gear icon located near the upper right side of the notification area.
  4. Click the menu icon in the upper-left corner and select “About Chrome OS.”
  5. Click “Check for Updates.”
  6. Click “Update” followed by “Restart to Update” to finish the process.
 
How to update your Android apps
  1. Make sure your device is connected to WiFi and log in using your school account.
  2. Click on the App Launcher icon located in the bottom left of your screen.
  3. Click on the up arrow to show all apps and then open the app called "Play Store".
  4. In the upper left corner of the Play Store expand the menu icon in the top left of the screen.
  5. Select the "My School Apps" option
  6. Here you will see a list of any app needing an update. Click the "Update All" button.
  7. Wait for your apps to be updated.
