Message from Mr. Regan regarding Washington D.C. and New York City field trip cancellations 3-11-2020

Good afternoon!

Out of an abundance of caution regarding the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the decision has been made to cancel the upcoming Holocaust Trip to Washington D.C. and the Fine Arts Trip to New York City. These decisions were not made lightly and come out of a direct concern for the health, safety, and welfare of our staff, students, and their families, as well as the community as a whole.

Students who have signed up for the Washington D.C. Trip should stop by the main office to receive a refund for the cost of their meal.

Students attending the New York City trip were informed today as a group. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions about the decision to cancel the trip. On Thursday, March 12th, all of the students who were signed up for the New York City Trip will receive a question and answer sheet pertaining to some of the questions that were posed during the meeting. We do not have the answers to all of the questions at this point but will do everything that we can to deliver the information to students as soon as any information becomes available.

At this point in time, these are the only events that we have decided to alter or cancel. We will continue to closely monitor the spread of the Coronavirus and work with health officials regarding any additional precautionary measures. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Richland High School Main Office. We are truly sorry for this inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation!

Thank you,

Timothy Regan
