Police K-9 unit sweeps Richland High School for illegal drugs

The high school was placed on a temporary lockdown Thursday morning as law enforcement conducted a planned narcotics sweep of the school property. School Resource Officer Steve Krestar indicated that these sweeps are conducted periodically throughout the year and was planned in cooperation with school administration.

"The intent of this search is to show our commitment to making Richland High School a safe educational environment," said newly appointed Principal Tim Regan. "We will not tolerate illegal substance use, possession, or sale at any time during school, on school property, or at school events."
