Meet Mrs. Heming!
👋 Hi there! I’m Laura Heming, and I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m the district’s Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), and this is my 12th year working as an SLP in the school setting. I love helping students find their voices, build confidence, and become strong, independent communicators.
🎓 I earned my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in May 2014. I hold my ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence and a Pennsylvania state license in Speech-Language Pathology. One of my favorite parts of being an SLP is getting to know each student and finding creative ways to help them succeed. Whether we’re working on speech sounds, language skills, communication strategies, or confidence, I strive to make therapy engaging, encouraging, and—most importantly—FUN! 😊
A Little About Me
When I’m not at school, you’ll usually find me at home just outside of New Florence, where my husband and I have a small hobby farm. Our farm is home to our mini donkeys and a variety of other animals, so there is never a dull moment!
We also have four children—Colton, McCoy, Waylon, and Gemma—who keep our family busy and life full of laughter and adventure.
When I have some free time, I enjoy boating, fishing, watching our boys play baseball, being outdoors, and spending time with my family.
I’m excited to be part of our school community and look forward to helping our students find their voices, share their ideas, and grow with confidence! 💬⭐
