Hello and thank you for visiting my page! My name is Courtney Cook, and I am proud to say that I am a fourth grade teacher at Richland Elementary School. This is my fifteenth year teaching fourth grade, with twelve of those years being here at RES. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and obtained my Master’s Degree in Education from Saint Francis University. I have been in the education field for over twenty years. Prior to teaching at Richland I was a substitute teacher in local school districts, home bound instructor, and a therapeutic staff support. I also taught fourth grade for three years at St. Andrew’s School. I have a genuine passion for teaching, and I absolutely love teaching fourth grade!
My supportive husband’s name is Scott, and I have three wonderful children, Kierstyn, Nick, and Nate. My daughter, Kierstyn, works as a registered nurse at Conemaugh Hospital. My oldest son, Nick, is in his senior year at the University of Pittsburgh, main campus, majoring in information systems. My youngest son, Nate, is in eighth grade at RHS. I adore spending quality time with my family and our beloved Border Collie, Rio.
I want my students to reach their full potential and strive to instill in them a love for learning. I use differentiated instruction, a variety of teaching strategies, and meaningful assessments in my classroom to meet the needs of every student in a positive learning environment. Parents, your active involvement and communication are essential for your child to have a productive and successful school year. Together we will accomplish this goal. I look forward to a wonderful school year with my bright and eager students who have already demonstrated such a strong willingness to learn.
Parents, please contact me throughout the year with any questions or concerns you may have. I will be happy to discuss them with you.
