Hello and thank you for visiting my page! My name is Courtney Cook, and I am proud to say that I am a fourth grade teacher at Richland Elementary School. This is my twentieth year teaching fourth grade, with seventeen of those years here at RES. I am also the Elementary Reading Team Advisor.

I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and obtained my Master’s Degree in Education from Saint Francis University.  Prior to teaching at Richland I was a substitute teacher in local school districts, homebound instructor, and a therapeutic staff support. I also taught fourth grade for three years at St. Andrew’s School.

I want my students to reach their full potential and strive to instill in them a love for learning. I use differentiated instruction, a variety of teaching strategies, and meaningful assessments in my classroom to meet the needs of every student in a positive learning environment. Parents, your active involvement and communication are essential for your child to have a productive and successful school year. Together we will accomplish this goal. I look forward to a wonderful school year with my bright and eager students who have already demonstrated such a strong willingness to learn.

Parents, please contact me throughout the year with any questions or concerns you may have. I will be happy to discuss them with you.
