Welcome to 3rd and 4th grade Learning Support. Below are some classroom procedures.
Classroom reminders:
Students have 2 chances at spelling tests. ** Students will get the better of the two scores.*** If a student does not get 100% on the pre-test, they can take the test the following day. Typically, spelling pre-tests are on Thursdays and tests on Friday (unless a student receives 100% on the pre-test). Vocabulary tests are also on Fridays. Students make and bring home vocabulary cards at the beginning of the week for vocabulary tests. Math and spelling homework completion is apart of students' grades. Please check agendas for any homework that needs to be done. Also, students are encouraged to read at home. Students will have a Reading Log in the "bring back" side of their folder. Anytime the student reads at home, please track the time on the reading log. Students are rewarded in class for time read at home.

Special Announcement*** Our classes are participating in the Trout in the Classroom program this year. We will learn about the trout life cycle, habitats, and conservation. The trout are now tiny fingerlings swimming around our tank!! Check the school facebook page for photos. Our field trip to release the trout will be May 7.

Week of: 4-29-24 Math and (Science for 4th only) PSSAs this week
Grade 4: Reading/ELA - We will begin reading Charlotte's Web. Students will take daily listening comprehension quizzes on each chapter. Students will get a new spelling list. The spelling test will be on May 10.
Math - We will continue Unit 8: angle measures as additives, lines of symmetry, line plots perimeter, area, fractions in measurement.
Grade 3: Reading/ELA - We will begin reading Charlotte's Web. Students will take daily listening comprehension quizzes on each chapter. Students will get a new spelling list. The spelling test will be on May 10.
Math - We will continue Unit 8: measuring to the quarter inch, extended multiplication and division facts, factors, solid shapes.
