1-1 Accounting in Action
The first 2 chapters of accounting are the most important. The accounts, equations, and transactions are used for the entire semester. If you understand it from the beginning, all concepts flow smoothly.
ALL assignments are submitted through MindTap (Cengage).
In MindTap, there is a reading section before the chapter and each section. It is useful to read the section before listening to the video and doing the problems.
Attached is a video of the 1-1 End of Lesson Review: Work Together problem. You can play it, stop it, rewind, fast forward, so can you complete the Work Together Problem, next is the On Your Own problem, which is very similar. MindTap will show where mistakes are made and the correct answers after submission.
I assess all assignments for your PowerSchool grade.
I use different points than MindTap. Do not be concerned about the gradebook in MindTap.
PowerSchool will have a Accounting IA grade, that I enter.
If I see a consistent error in your work, I will talk to you to correct it. If the class is making the same mistake, I will do it as a group.
The chapter assignments are due the day before the TEST. So it is important that you ask me, if you have trouble with concepts or a problem, before moving on to next section. Sometimes, students don't submit problems until the due date. I cannot access them before the test and you do not get the corrected answers, in time for the test. Be responsible and work on accounting every day until finished with the chapter. I can move the test date, if you want to move a faster pace.

1-1 End of Lesson Review are a 1-1 Work Together (on video) and 1-1 On your Own: These two problems are graded as Homework in PowerSchool.

Repeat the work together, on your own and application problems for all sections in chapter 1.
When finished with sections 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 End Of Lesson Review (WTG and OYO), and Application problems, do 1M - Mastery problem and submit. The Mastery problems practice all skills learned in all sections of chapter. It is review for the Chapter Test.
Also, there are flashcards in MindTap to practice vocabulary.
The test will be available online with the date announcement in google classroom.
There is an optional Challenge problem for each chapter. If you complete it, I will add 3 points extra credit to the chapter test grade. If you do not do it, there is no penalty.
Always check PowerSchool for grades.
