Free Community Remembrance Ceremonies Honoring the 75th Anniversary of Flag Raising at Iwo Jima

Johnstown, Pennsylvania (February 13, 2020) – JWF Defense Systems and Wessel & Company will welcome Ms. Livia Kovalcikova, Mayor of Jarabina, Slovakia, to Johnstown next weekend for the 75th anniversary of the United States flag raising at Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima, Japan, during World War II. Jarabina is the birthplace of Sgt. Michael Strank who led his marine division in raising the flag on February 23, 1945.

Richland High School Technology Student Association (TSA) Sweeps Regional Competition

The Richland High School’s Technology Student Association (TSA) swept Pennsylvania’s largest regional TSA competition, TSA Region 8, that was held on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Northern Cambria Elementary-Middle School.

Message from the Superintendent - 1/9/2020

The Richland School District administration in cooperation with Ignite Educational Solutions have immediately terminated the employment of a contracted employee from Ignite Educational Solutions who was serving as an elementary teaching assistant (classroom aide). The contracted employee admitted to consuming alcohol while in the Richland Elementary School during the school day.
