Welcome to 3rd and 4th grade Learning Support. Below are some classroom procedures.
Classroom reminders:
Students have 2 chances at spelling tests. ** Students will get the better of the two scores.*** If a student does not get 100% on the pre-test, they can take the test the following day. Typically, spelling pre-tests are on Thursdays and tests on Friday (unless a student receives 100% on the pre-test). Vocabulary tests are also on Fridays. Students make and bring home vocabulary cards at the beginning of the week for vocabulary tests. Math and spelling homework completion is apart of students' grades. Please check agendas for any homework that needs to be done. Also, students are encouraged to read at home. Students will have a Reading Log in the "bring back" side of their folder. Anytime the student reads at home, please track the time on the reading log. Students are rewarded in class for time read at home.

Week of: 11-2-26
Spelling words - The spelling list is a review of the previous spelling words since it is a shortened time. The words are: crop, mile, save, sweet, lay, pile, smell, thing, load, plan, soak, told, mild, real, spoke, trail pretest will be on Monday, November 10 with the test on Tuesday, November 29.
Grade 4: Reading/ELA - We will read argumentative text: Kids in Business. Students will get new vocabulary words. Students will learn about abstract nouns. Students will have a test on the story and vocabulary words on Tuesday, November 10. Spelling packets are bonus points and due at the time of the test.
Math - Students will continue in our Everyday Math series Unit 2 : square number patterns, area, factors, prime and composite, multiples, units of time, multiplication number stories, classifying triangle and quadrilaterals, lines of symmetry, patterns in numbers with a test on Friday.
Grade 3: Reading/ELA - We will read argumentative text: Protecting Our Parks. Students will get new vocabulary words. Students will learn about abstract nouns. Students will have a test on the story and vocabulary words on Tuesday, November 10.
Math - Students will continue in our Everyday Math series Unit 2: extended addition and subtraction facts, number stories, multistep number stories, equal groups, multiplication arrays, division, fractions with a test on Friday.
