Third grade students made Christmas cards for our troops and the Red Cross and Commissioner Tom Chernisky stopped by today to pick them up.  We were happy that Superintendent Arnold Nadonley and Principal Gregg Wilson were able to join us for a picture.  Did you know Mr. Wilson is a veteran???

Your All Star may have told you that we use many different types of resources to help us understand concepts in Language Arts class.  This week, we used some videos from YouTube to help us with "being verbs." If you would like to view these with your All Star, you can find them by searching for the following on YouTube:
1. Being Verbs by Jhalehartman
2. Be a Rock Star Song by EnglishClub
3. Schoolhouse Rock Verbs

We used place value mats and base 10 blocks to make the concept of "borrowing" or "trading" in subtraction a little easier to understand.
The All Stars were introduced to our new Chromebooks today in Language Arts class.  We practiced using usernames and passwords, looked through the new District website, even practiced our Lesson 4 vocabulary words with a game of Kahoot!  We are very excited to use the Chromebooks this year!!!
We had a guest reader this week!! The All Stars enjoyed listening to Miss Stefanik's daughter, Taylor, read the class novel to them.  We finally finished Third Grade Angels.  (Ask your All Star about Suds and the halo!)
