Hello! Thank you for visiting my page! I am always excited to meet my new students and families, and I hope that this will help you get to know me a bit more.
I graduated from Johnstown High School in 1997, where I served as newspaper editor for one year and yearbook editor for two years. It was through these classes that I learned the value of correct grammar and punctuation, thanks to Mr. Scott McCloud, my journalism teacher. I carry the lessons that I learned from him into my classroom today.
After high school, I continued my education at Clarion University, where I was a special and elementary education dual major. At Clarion, I had a wide variety of classroom experiences that prepared me well for my career. I graduated in the spring of 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in both special education and elementary education.
I started my teaching career in August of 2002 at the Conemaugh Valley School District and on a whim, decided to apply for a position at Richland. Much to my surprise, I was offered the job! As it turns out, sending that application in was one of the best decisions of my life.
My career at Richland started in August of 2004. It's hard to believe that this in my twelfth year at Richland. In these twelve years, I have taught many different subjects at many different grade levels. Through all the years, however, one thing has remained the same. I love my job, where I work, and the kids I work with. I look forward to working with each and every one of you this year!
