Welcome to Mrs. Crowell's Page

Mrs. Crowell is Senior High School Counselor at Richland Jr./Sr. High School.  She is excited about the opportunity she has been given to work at such a wonderful school.  She looks forward to working closely with the students, the families, the faculty & staff, as well as the administration and community members that make up Richland School District.  Her goal is to always bring a fresh perspective to high school counseling services, to make strong connections with the students, to make everyone feel welcome in the Guidance Office, and to successfully integrate herself into our strong school community.

Please stop in the Guidance Office and introduce yourself to Mrs. Crowell!  It is important that she gets to know each student in the high school and impromptu meetings are perfect for this.  Feel free to call or E-mail her with any questions you may have.

About Mrs. Crowell:

Education:

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Juniata College in December of 2004.  Dual enrollment credits, AP credit, transfer credit, and studying abroad allowed her to graduate a semester early.  Because of this, she is passionate about sharing these opportunities with her students.  Feel free to ask her about them anytime.

After Juniata, she pursued a degree in Secondary School Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  In December of 2007, she received both her Master's of Education and her Pennsylvania Certification.  She added both her Elementary Certification in School Counseling and her License in Professional Counseling in May of 2013.

Experience:

Mrs. Crowell began her position at Richland in 2016. Before that, Mrs. Crowell worked as a Secondary School Counselor for 3 years in another high school.  Other positions she's held include an Outpatient Mental Health Counselor, a School-Based Counselor, and a Behavioral Specialist Consultant at a local mental health agency totaling 9 years.  Prior to obtaining a degree, she worked in banking, customer service & food service.  She truly believes that each of those jobs contributed to skills she uses every day as a school counselor and that every experience should be treated as a learning opportunity.

Personal Life:

Her family consists of her husband Ryan, her son Wade, her daughter Adessa, dog Bo, and her kitty Belle.  You can usually catch her supporting and chauffeuring her children to a sport or activity.  In her spare time, she enjoys genealogy, baking, spin classes, reading, planning family trips & vacations, listening to podcasts, or watching movies.
