I have loved teaching for over 30 years. I have been a primary teacher for most of my career and love working with children. I believe that children are the best part of teaching. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Outside of school, I live in Richland with my husband. I have two married daughters.  One of them is a teacher too!  I am also a proud grandma!

Jan. 30 to Feb. 3

Math: We are working on partial sums addition, ballpark estimation and subtraction.

ReadingL We are starting unit 4.  We will be focusing on cultures.  We will use the story Dear Primo.   Spelling pattern is silent consonants -- kn,sc,. wr, gn, Compound words are reviewed.

Jan. 23 to 27

Math: Working on addition and subtraction stories.  Examples: Part-Part-Total,
Quantity-Quantity-Difference, Start-Change-End

                   Tuesday: homelinks 6-5
                    Wednesday: homelink 6-6
                     Thursday: homelink 6-7
 
Language Arts:  We are continuing reviewing and doing Benchmark Assessments.
Homework:  Check agenda and go over study guide.

Jan. 16 to 20

Math:  We are working on gathering data and graphing.

Language Arts: This is a review and assessment week.  We will be reading stories and going over skills like seguence, prefixes (un, re and dis), synonyms, long vowels and past tense verbs.
Homework:  Check agenda for assignments.
 

Jan. 9 to 13

Math:  we are working on change to stories.  See the note on timed tests.

Language Arts: We are working on unit 3 week 5 --theme of music.  Skills and strategies include: main idea/details, prefixes, combining sentences and long u pattern for spelling.

Math:  working on money values, change to problems and open number lines.

Language Arts:  We are finishing up the work on Mr. Putter and Tabby.  Spelling test Friday.  Vocab Test Friday

We are working on story, Mrs. Potter and Tabby and stars.  It will carry over to the first week of January.

Math:  We are starting unit 5 counting money and making change.  this can be difficult for students and you may want to work on money at home.
