Here are some of our students after the play Pete the Cat.  Thanks to PTO for sending us.  Everyone had fun.  Students were dancing at the end!

week of April 11-14

Math: We are working on fractions.
Homework: Tuesday: none- attending play at UPJ
                    Wednesday:  homelinks 9-2
                     Thursday: homelinks 9-3
Language Arts:  We are finishing up studying about citizenship and heroes.  Skills include spelling au/aw sound, homophones, contractions and problem and solution in a story.
Homework:   Tuesday:  write spelling words
                      Wednesday:  practice vocab
                       Thursday:   study spelling and vocab
                        Friday: tests
 

Week of April 3 to 7

Math: We are practicing fractions, counting money and addition and subtraction.
Homework: Monday: homelinks 9-1
                    No other homework for math the rest of the week.
 
Language Arts: We are continuing to discuss citizenship.  The spelling words will be presented but carried over after Easter.
 Homework: Monday: write spelling words
                    No other homework the rest of the week.

week of March 27 to 31

Math: we are finishing up the unit on geometry.
Homework: Monday: Homelinks 8-9
                    Tuesday: homelinks 8-10
                     Wednesday: homelinks 8-11
                      Thursday: homelinks 8-12 family note
Language Arts:  We are beginning a week on citizenship stories.  We will focus on sequence, synonyms, possessive pronouns and spelling pattern with oo, ew sounds.
Homework: Monday: spelling sheet

                     Wednesday:  read story sign bookmark
                      Thursday:  study spelling words

Week of March 20 to 24

Math:  We are working on Geometry.

Language Arts-We are finishing studying about heroes.  Skills include: spelling words with oi/oy dipthongs, pronouns, plurals and sequence (timelines)

Week of March 13 to 17

Math: We are working on geometry: study of shapes and sizes.
Homework: Monday: homelinks 8-2
                    Tuesday: homelinks 8-3
                     Wednesday: homelinks 8-4
                     Thursday: homelinks 8-5
Language Arts: We are working on stories about people who made a difference.  Spelling pattern is ou and ow like ouch.  Other skills include: point of view, suffixes, and pronouns.
Homework:  Monday:  Do spelling sheet
                     Tuesday: plural sheet
                      Wednesday:  read story - sign bookmark
                      Thursday: study spelling and vocab.

We have finished all the lower case cursive letters.  Look for the paper to come home.  Please help your child continue to practice and read cursive writing.  I think they are doing great!

Math: We are finishing a unit on measuring and practicing + -.

Language Arts:  This is a review week. I emailed you a practice study guide.  It will also be sent home.  We will be reviewing skills and literature stories.  We will also work with a fourth grade class this week on poetry.
Homework:  Watch agenda for stories to read and go over practice sheet.
No spelling or vocab test this week.
