My goal for 6th grade literature is to have students use the active reading skills when reading fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama. Through the use of reading strategies, students will become more fluent readers and develop a greater degree of comprehension. Students will analyze reading selections using literary elements in a variety of genres. This course will incorporate vocabulary development and PSSA preparation.

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to check in to make sure you are all doing OK. I hope you are well and making the best out of this situation. It is difficult to stay home and practice social distancing, but it is extremely important to keep everyone safe. Unfortunately, none of us had a chance to prepare for this break before we left school last Friday. I know I left all my planning materials there. However, I wanted to remind you that you can use Study Island and Kahoot to practice your skills and you can access AR from the Renaissance Learning website under the Parents' tab. Here are a few websites you might want to check out as well. www.scholastic.com/learnathome www.freckle.com www.discoveryeducation.com Please stay home, wash your hands often, and don't forget to Read! Hopefully things will get back to normal shortly, and we will be back at school playing Bumperball! Stay safe and enjoy your family time. Hope to see you soon. Mrs. Costlow
